People spell my name wrong even though they are looking right at it

I can’t believe that sometimes when someone wants to thank me or write something to me they spell my name wrong even though they are looking at it right on the screen or on the paper. They instead of spelling “Derek” they spell “Dereck” even though my name is right there in front of them. I wonder why…
