iMac abit slower shutdown after installing programs

WIth iWork 09, camtwist, and colloquy my iMac my shutdown time was almost instant after I pushed the shutdown button. After I installed Cyberduck adobe air and twhirl it slowed down to more than 5 seconds to shutdown. So possibly it’s getting older or adobe air slows it down a little.
